Round Maine, Inc. can provide expert log-home restoration, renovation and repair services, from basic wood repairs to total restorations: including corn blasting, re-staining, caulking, and chinking. We also do additions, dormers, porches, you name it! All our work is done using traditional Maine craftsmanship and the finest materials, including Northern White Cedar logs.

Jim has completed training in The Zero Failures Seminar in Sherburn, NY. The seminar was sponsored by Sashco, a company located in Colorado, that produces a full line of log home care. This intensive two-day seminar is geared primarily for professional applicators. They have trained hundreds from Canada, Japan, France, and the United States. The classroom sessions were taught by staff chemists who have formulated products for Sashco. They discussed the state-of-the art application techniques, the principles of log and wood dynamics, and how to apply this knowledge to each log home as it is finished. The hands on section was taught by the owner of a successful sealant and restoration contracting company from Wyoming. This involved using a corn blaster, then chinking, caulking, and staining log walls.

Raising the roof

The images below show a renovation project done by Round Maine, Inc. to add additional space and light to log cottages built in Boothbay Harbor in the 1920's. Round Maine, Inc. used authentic log truss and rafter work throughout this project, to blend with the construction of the cabin built seven decades before.
